Toner

Hello again loyal beauty bloggers. This blog is dedicated to Spa Face Aromatherapy Neroli Water. This is a toner. Unlike most toners that dry your skin making it feel tight, this does the opposite. You would use this after your face is clean or as a body mist after you get out of the shower. This is the Spa Face description, "This unique floral water from the bitter orange blossom soothes, hydrates and freshens the skin". This is a no nonsense description. The description is true to what this product actually does! It feels great on your skin and is light, light, light. It feels like all you have on your face is water. It smells great and leaves you feeling refreshed. I would recommend this to anyone who is sick of regular mass market toners that are harsh and drying. Have a great day! Until next time.

Eau De Parfum

Hello again beauty blogger's. I realized I had not done a blog about fragrance yet, so please forgive me. I wanted to share a few of my favorite perfumes with you. The one I have been wearing a lot as of late is from Victoria's Secret but it is not Heavenly. It is one of Heavenly's sister Eau De Perfumes, it is Halo. Heavenly is probably the most famous Victoria's Secret perfume but Halo is my favorite. The reason being, it is a great blend of two floral scents. Tiare (a hawaiian flower) and freesia. I like that it only has a few components because sometimes when a perfume is mixed with 10 different scents it looses concentration and does not stay on as long. Halo is one of those perfumes that smells better on your body. When you first spray it, it seems to strong. Once its been on for a few minutes, you'll wish this was how your body smelled by itself. It is a sexy and alluring scent. No one will be able to figure out what perfume you are wearing, but they will all be curious. I get compliments all the time when I wear this perfume. This perfume is great for people who love floral scents but also like to be original. A few more of my favorite perfumes are: Fantasy by Britney Spears, The Beat by Burberry and Viva La Juicy by Juicy Couture. I would recommend any of these for anyone. Until next time.

Hair Spray!

Good morning! It's a beautiful day. I am writing today about my new favorite hair spray. Its by Jonathan and its his Finish Control High Shine Flexible Hairspray. It is 100% vegan and made with essential water. I love it because it is non-sticky and non-greasy. It leaves your hair flexible and manageable not stuck in one place like most hair sprays. It also acts as a finishing spray, leaving your hair shinny and beautiful. You can use it whether you are styling your hair curly or straight. My roommates love it to, they always ask to use mine. Jonathan says, "From the runway to the red carpet, I use this spray on all my celebrity clients. The hold is instant with high shine that lasts day into night. Plus, I love that it locks out humidity, tames frizz and fly-aways too!". The bottle is white with a few muted red strips for definition in the labels. It has a white plastic pop off cap and is an aerosol. I hope everyone is having a great day! Until next time.

Beauty Fix Shout Out!!

Hey all you beauty blogger's, I want to give a big thank you to Beauty Fix for supplying my class with all the wonderful beauty kits we received. I've been wonderfully overwhelmed with products to try. Thank you Beauty Fix! What is Beauty Fix you ask, well go to www.beautyfix.com and check it out for yourself.
On Saturday I decided to splurge a little bit. I went to Sephora and bought a few new things I was desperately coveting. I bought Cliniques 7 Day Scrub, a Kabuki brush and Bare Minerals (I had run out). I have never tried Clinique skin care products but the scrub was a good price so I thought I would try it. I can tell you from now on I will keep buying this product. I love the way my skin looks and feels after I use it. I highly recommend Cliniques 7 Day Scrub to everyone who is needs to find a good daily exfoliator. Let me now tell you about my new Kabuki brush. It is one of the best brush investments I've ever made. I love the way it makes my makeup blend on my face. If you do not have one, you need to get one.

Exfoliators

I learned a few things this past week about certain exfoliators. I was shocked and disturbed to find out that my favorite facial scrub was actually contributing to my blotchy, red skin. My favorite mass market facial scrub is St. Ives, Apricot Scrub. The reason it is not the best choice for your skin is because of the crushed up apricot pits that make the scrub a scrub. The pits are not smooth and round, so when you use it on your face you could be doing a lot of damage. If you have a rough hand and like the way it feels to rub hard while exfoliating you are not alone. I used to think the harder you rub the cleaner you skin will be. Ladies and gentlemen that is not the case. You should not rub your face so hard that it almost hurts and is red after you rinse. So instead of a scrub that has pits or nut shells in it, look for a scrub that has synthetic beads that appear smooth and round. Switching will make a huge difference in the redness of your skin. Also, only exfoliate three to four times a week at the most. Any more then that you are not giving your skin enough recovery time.

Smoking Update #2/Steam Room

Hey everyone! So as you all know I have been struggling with quitting smoking. Since my last update I have only bought one pack of cigarettes. My goal is ween myself off of them little by little. One pack in a few weeks is a really great accomplishment for me. Although I have not gone cold turkey I am gradually quitting. Sine I have yet to quit completely I know I still have a lot of toxins in my body. So, to try and supplement for still smoking I have been going in the steam room at my gym four times a week. Not only does this help me to sweat out the toxins from the cigarettes I smoke but it also has been amazing for my skin. I do not only mean the skin on my face either. My skin every where is starting to improve. I tend to break out on my chest and the back of my neck, but since I have been going in the steam room I have virtually had no acne break outs. I would recommend going to a steam room three times a week for 20 minute increments.

Personal Skin Care

Hi everyone! I am so excited to talk about my personal beauty regimen for my skin. I have normal to oily skin, rarely do I every have dry skin. It was really hard for me to come up with a skin care system that works for me. It has taken me years to figure it out. So if you are frustrated with you skin, try not to fret to much because it does take time to perfect what works for you. Here is my cleansing system: 1. I wash with a cream cleanser 2. I exfoliate with St. Ives Apricot Scrub 3. I wash again with my cream cleanser 4. I put on my Olay non-scented face lotion 5. I put on my eye cream 6. If I have a pimple or two I spot treat them with this German green cream I have. I know that sounds like a lot, but it only takes about 10 minutes. I do it twice a day. It is very important to wash your face morning and night to make sure you get all the makeup, sweat and germs off your skin. Thanks so much for reading. Until next time.

New Fav's!

Hey everyone, I have been super busy with school work and going up north to help my mom move into to her new place, that's why I've been pretty M.I.A recently. Anyway, I want to write today about my new favorite products! First is a body mist by Degree for women. It is called Classic Romance and you can find it in the deodorant aisle at the store! It is in a 3fl oz. bottle and smells amazing!! It is perfect for keeping in your purse. In these hard financial times, women need to smell great while being able to stick to a budget.
Next is a Makeup Finishing Spray by Skindinavia. It is oil free and paraben free. I'm sure you can find it online if you google it. In my opinion this finishing spray works way better then the MAC brands. The Skindinavia one is so light weight you can not even feel it on. It dries quickly without making your makeup run all over so that you have to do touch ups. It does not make me break out which is rare in finishing sprays for me, because I have acne prone skin.
The last product I am so in love with right now is Age Defyer Eye Cures by Avance. This product really makes your eye's feel brighter. It's good for lines, bags and dark circles under the eyes and it's a great product for prevention. I also found anther use for it. If you put it on after you shower and before you put makeup on, it makes your eye makeup last longer!! What woman does not want that.
I hope you all will go out and try these products and also let me know what you thought about them. Thanks guys and have a great week!

Hair Tips

Hey everyone. I just remembered a few tips that I learned while I lived in Hawaii about taking care of your hair. Here is a little history to catch you up. The Hawaiians used to use awapuhi straight from the plant to wash their hair and condition it. It's a secret still used by many people in Hawaii today. I don't know if anyone has ever been to Hawaii but all the girls their have amazing, beautiful hair. If you can find any shampoo and or conditioner that has awapuhi in it, I highly recommend using it once or twice a week to improve your hair's condition and shine. Paul Mitchel has good products with awapuhi. Also make sure you are always rinsing your hair with cold water in the shower. It may sound unpleasant but if you do everything you need to do in the shower and then condition your hair last, it will not be bad at all. Cold water will make your hair shinier and help to stimulate your hair follicles. Also, if you have a little extra cash you should try finding some distilled water and washing your hair with it. It is very pure and does not have the minerals and things that come out of your shower water. It will help lock in your hair products effectiveness in your hair. I hope everyone has a beautiful day!

I QUIT!!!

So this week I quit smoking. I have quit and few times before and it didn't really stick for longer than a few months. I have noticed such a dramatic difference in my skin in the past week. Also I don't cough all day, I have more endurance when I work out and I don't feel as weighted down. I highly recommend quitting smoking to everyone reading this. We all know its bad for us in every way, but if you really try it I think you'll like the positives of quitting a lot more then eventually getting lung, mouth or tongue cancer!! There are lots of resources online to help you quit. There are also hot lines that you can call and if you have some extra cash and really want to quit call a hypnotist! I hear it really works. Well until next, blog!!

My First Blog?

So this is my first blogging experience ever!! I am excited to get started and let everyone in on some of my secrets. Do's, dont's and a whole bunch of random things I like or do not like. Here is some information about me. I am a student at FIDM in downtown Los Angeles. I am 21 and currently searching (desperately!) for a job. My favorite brand of cosmetics is M.A.C (shocker right? everyone loves M.A.C). I lived the first 14 years of my life in Hawaii, so I have some ancient advise up my sleeves straight from the Hawaiian culture about beauty and skin care. Before moving to California I lived in Arizona for six years, and man is it dry there, I've got some how to advise on how i lived in the desert for that long without drying up. There is more information to come,so stayed tuned for what I have in store for this blog!
